Contraception and sexual health

The Sexual Medicine Service provides free and confidential testing and treatment services for sexual infections, along with advice on a wide range of Sexual Health and Contraceptive issues. It's based at Castle Circus Health Centre in Torquay.

Walk in clinics (contraception services only) are available at Castle Circus Health Centre every weekday morning. Full details on the link below.

Marie Stopes
From 1^st July 2020 Marie Stopes is able to offer women face-to-face and telemedicine TOP appointments across Devon as follows, offering women in the region increased choice and access to NHS-funded early medical abortion:-

Exeter – St. Leonards Medical Practice, Athelstan Road, Exeter, EX1 1SB
Open – Tuesday & Wednesday 8:30 – 16:30
Paignton – Mayfield Medical Centre, 37 Totnes Road, Paignton, TQ1 5LA
Open – Thursday & Friday 8:30 – 16:30
Plymouth – Mount Gould Local Care Centre, 200 Mount Gould Road, Plymouth, PL4 7PY
Open – Wednesday 17:00 – 21:00 and Friday 13:00 – 21:00

All three clinics provide a confidential setting to respect women’s dignity and privacy.
Women seeking abortion care will also be offered the full range of contraception methods, as well as testing for chlamydia.

Women can self-refer by contacting Marie Stopes UK’s confidential helpline One Call (0345 300 8090) which is free to call, offering women appointments, advice and unlimited counselling with independent counsellors registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
