Coronovirus (Covid-19) Alert

Shielding - Protecting those who are most vulnerable. The Government are writing directly to people this week (23rd March) whom they deem to be "vulnerable" depending on their medical background. The letter will advise these individuals to self isolate, in order to protect themselves and the population. Those affected will receive a letter in the post. Please refrain from contacting the surgery about this as we have no further information at this stage. We are working hard to continue to ensure the safety of our patients and thank you for your understanding at this time. This is in the interest of patient safety with the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. We are now operating a full triage service before you are able to enter the building.

This is a pandemic and guidance from the government is changing on a daily basis. Please go to the daily government public health information for the latest update.

Currently we are working on the basis that if you have a high temperature or a fever OR a new continuous cough, please refer to 111.NHS.uk to follow their guidance. If you don’t have access to the internet please telephone 111, we anticipate there may be delays in answering.

To protect others, DO NOT GO TO A GP SURGERY, PHARMACY OR HOSPITAL.

Prescriptions:

We are suspending paper prescription requests until further notice to avoid spreading the virus.  Please order your prescription electronically.  You can do this via 1. Patient Access, 2. NHS App or 3. Email us at prescriptions.mayfield@nhs.net

If you have to stay at home because of Coronavirus, this is the Isolation Note for your employer.

We are open on Mondays to Fridays when the following services are available:

Telephone consultation:      8am - 6pm  

Reception enquiries:            8:30am - 6pm

Surgery appointments:        8:30am - 5pm  

Improved Access

For patients who are registered at a Paignton or Brixham GP surgery, there are a limited amount of "Improved Access"  appointments available at local surgeries.

"Improved Access" is not a walk in service, appointments are for routine general practice issues and not for urgent care. When using the service, your clinician may be from a different local practice. When you book an appointment you will be asked for consent to share your own GPs record with the clinician providing your care. We need this to ensure the correct treatment and to allow us to prescribe for you.

  • Tuesday (6-8pm) – Compass House Surgery, Brixham  
  • Wednesday  (6-8pm) – Pembroke House Surgery, Paignton 
  • Thursday (6-8pm) – Mayfield Medical Centre, Paignton 
  • Friday (6-8pm), Saturday (8am-6pm) and Sunday (8am-2pm) - Pembroke House Surgery, Paignton
