All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Mayfield Medical Centres in the last financial year was £48,156 before tax and National Insurance.
This is for 3 full time GPs, 7 part time GPs and 2 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
Family doctors are stretched to breaking point, and new recruits don't want to train to be GPs. To add insult to injury, GP funding to deprived areas and smaller practices is also in danger.
Read more articles on this crisis on our news page and contact your MP if you think that saving General Practice should be a government priority.
