Earwax is a waxy material produced by sebaceous glands inside the ear. It cleans, lubricates and protects the lining of the ear by trapping dirt and repelling water. Learn more about the symptoms, causes, treatments and complications of earwax problems.
A build-up of earwax can cause dulled hearing and sometimes other symptoms. Earwax can usually be easily removed.
