Coronovirus (Covid-19) Alert

Shielding - Protecting those who are most vulnerable. The Government are writing directly to people this week (23rd March) whom they deem to be "vulnerable" depending on their medical background. The letter will advise these individuals to self isolate, in order to protect themselves and the population. Those affected will receive a letter in the post. Please refrain from contacting the surgery about this as we have no further information at this stage. We are working hard to continue to ensure the safety of our patients and thank you for your understanding at this time. More info here.

Please do not come to the surgery if you do not have an appointment.

This is in the interest of patient safety with the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. We are now operating a full triage service before you are able to enter the building. This is a pandemic and guidance from the government is changing on a daily basis. Please go to the daily government public health information for the latest update.

Currently we are working on the basis that if you have a high temperature or a fever OR a new continuous cough, please refer to 111.NHS.uk to follow their guidance. If you don’t have access to the internet please telephone 111, we anticipate there may be delays in answering.

To protect others, DO NOT GO TO A GP SURGERY, PHARMACY OR HOSPITAL.

To access our services:

Please complete an E-consult which will be passed to a clinician to triage.  (Click on “Get an eConsult response within 24 hours” on the right hand side of the webpage.) You can email us at enquiries.mayfield@nhs.net. If you do not have access to the internet or if you don’t fulfil the criteria, in bold above, to contact 111 and believe you need to be seen urgently today please phone the surgery. We are expecting larger delays in answering than usual - please call 01803 495400.

Prescriptions:

We are suspending paper prescription requests until further notice to avoid spreading the virus.  Please order your prescription electronically.  You can do this via 1. Patient Access, 2. NHS App or 3. Email us at prescriptions.mayfield@nhs.net

Isolation Note:

If you have to stay at home because of Coronavirus, this is the Isolation Note for your employer.

Brixham Patients / New Road Site:

For business continuity purposes, we will be redirecting all Brixham patients that use our New Road site to our other sites at Cherrybrook Square and Totnes Road, Paignton. This will take effect from Tuesday 24th March 2020.

Many thanks for your understanding and cooperation to help us protect our patients and staff

Proposed Merger

The partners of Mayfield Medical Centre took over the GP contract for St Lukes and Greenswood Medical Practice in Brixham on the 1st January 2019. This means that Mayfield are responsible for all the staff, any associated costs and receives the monthly contractual payments. We will be erecting new signage in the near future recognising that the surgery will be known as Mayfield Medical Centre at New Road, Brixham.

To complete the transaction and improve the efficiency of the serviceprovide, we have to apply to NHS England to merge the contractual payments and the clinical systems. We are also requesting to move the whole Surgery from where it is now to the Brixham hospital site and closing the site at New Road. If all goes to plan we would hope to be in situ by the end of June 2019.

Please print and complete the questionairre. Or download it, fill it in, scan/photograph it and and email to the address provided.

Mayfield Medical Centres and Old Farm Surgery were proposing to merge but this is no longer the case. They each anticipate being able to continue functioning as stand-alone NHS GP Surgerys serving their patients to the very best of their abilities.
