Dr Stuart Crowe
MBChB

Qualified in 1991 from Bristol University he is married with one son. His special interests are ENT and prescribing within the practice, but is very much a generalist. He loves long distance walking and regularly walk sections of the South West Coast Path. He has a dog called Bubbles (don’t ask) who keeps him out of mischief!

Dr Carly Gurr
BSc (Hons) BMBS MRCGP

Dr Gurr grew up in Devon and trained locally, graduating from Peninsula Medical School in 2010. During her time as part of a research team at the University of Exeter she developed a specialist interest in Rheumatology. She has a young family and in her spare time enjoys dinghy sailing and baking cakes.

Dr Rya Symonds  
MBChB

Rya studied Medicine at Birmingham University, qualifying in 2006, then went on to complete my GP training in Torbay. She is particularly enthusiastic about preventative and lifestyle medicine. She enjoys long walks with her dog, rock climbing and bouldering and growing exotic veg in the greenhouse.

Dr Sascha Lee 
MBChB

Dr Lee qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2009. She has worked locally for over 10 years before joining the Mayfield Medical Centre in 2019. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice with a particular interest in women's and child health and dermatology. When not being a GP she likes to spend time with her young family, enjoying the outdoors and playing the piano. 

Dr Lisa Bocking 
MB.BS, FPCert, DCH

Dr Bocking qualified from Charing Cross Hospital in 1989, initially training at Westminister Children's Hospital and then the Hammersmith. She completed her General Practice training before becoming a partner in a practice in West London. She enjoys all aspects of general practice with particular interest in paediatrics, gynaecology and contraception. She enjoys family, travel and the outdoors, and plays the saxophone, clarinet and piano. 

Dr Julia Tysoe 
MB ChB MRCGP

Dr Tysoe qualified in 1992 at Birmingham University Medical school and worked around the UK before marrying  into the Army. After a few years away off work due to having children and changing postings several times, she restarted GP training in 2007 in Torbay Hospital and started at Mayfield Medical Centre soon after qualifying in 2012. She lives in Totnes with her husband, dog, and grown up children when they are home. She loves being outdoors, walking her dog and running. 

Dr Rowan Lepley 
MRCGP, MBChB, MA (Cantab), DRCOG

Dr Lepley graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2010 and spent a few years working as a junior doctor in the city. She moved to Devon in 2012 to complete her GP training locally in Torbay. She joined Mayfield as a salaried GP in September 2019 and enjoys all aspects of general practice. She has two young children and enjoys spending time with her family, walking, camping and spending time with friends.

Dr Hayley Sherratt
MBBS, iBSc, DRCOG, MRCGP

Dr Sherratt qualified from University College London in 2012, completed GP training in London and then moved back to Devon to work at Mayfield, her childhood practice. She has an interest in palliative care and mental health, in particular trauma-informed care.  When not working she enjoys spending time with her young family, keeping fit and travelling.

Dr Jenny Tucker
BSc (Hons) MBChB MRCGP

Dr Tucker qualified from Bristol Medical School in 2013 and completed General Practice training in Gloucestershire. After working within the area for a number of years she decided to relocate to Devon to be closer to friends and family and joined Mayfield Medical Centre in 2021 as a salaried GP. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice but has particular interests in women’s health and palliative care. She has a young family and enjoys spending time outdoors walking their dog, paddleboarding and exploring the countryside.

Dr Rory Honney

Rory qualified from Oxford University in 2009. Having then trained in Dorset and Hampshire, where he worked as a GP partner in Hampshire for the last five years, he recently moved to Devon to be closer to family. Alongside being a GP, Rory is dual trained in Public Health Medicine focusing on the role of health care systems in preventing disease and ensuring fair outcomes for all. Clinically he has a particular interest in Cardiovascular Disease. In his spare time he can be found with his wife and young children exploring the beautiful coast line and moor of South Devon.

Dr Esther Trafford
BA (Hons), BMBCh, MRCGP

Dr Trafford graduated from the University of Oxford in 2011. She undertook GP training in the Oxford and Bristol areas. After moving to Devon, she joined Mayfield Medical Centre in 2021. She has a young family with whom she is enjoying exploring all that Torbay has to offer. Outside of work, Dr Trafford is a keen musician, playing the violin and piano, and an enthusiastic home sewer.

Dr Veeram Mahadea

Dr Mahadea is a half Polish - half Mauritian citizen who grew up in Mauritius, graduated in PUMS in Poland and did his foundation and specialty training in Oxford and Torbay respectively. A young father and an adept of coaching a youth football team in Stoke Gabriel, he enjoys all aspect of General Practice, with a special interest in minor surgery.

Dr Zara Murphy

Dr Murphy qualified from King’s College London in 2017, before training in Torbay and Plymouth. She joined Mayfield Medical Centre in 2023 as her first salaried GP role. In her spare time, she likes to read fiction, and spend time with her rescue cat.
